Former WWE star says Shane McMahon is "one of the good McMahons" but sadly won't be a draw in AEW

Shane McMahon is rumored to potentially join AEW soon. Former WWE star, Matt Morgan recently gave his opinion on the matter and he believes that McMahon won't add much value to Tony Khan's roster.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Shane-O Mac was no longer under contract with WWE and is a free agent. Then it was reported that he was interested in joining Tony Khan's promotion. The AEW head honcho has denied any rumors of talking to McMahon about a potential joining.

Speaking on the latest edition of Gigantic Pop, Matt Morgan praised Shane for being the "good" McMahon but also stated that he won't be a big draw in AEW because he was not fit to wrestle on a regular basis. He added that Khan could use him as a General Manager in his company or hand him certain creative duties.

"There's not much [AEW can do with Shane McMahon]. I mean, you're right. What would you do with him? He's not gonna wrestle. If he wrestles, that's a one night. It's not even a draw. No disrespect to Shane. I love Shane. He's one of the good McMahons. But seriously, I don't know what you know unless his creative [...] Was he considered like really creative when he was [in WWE] I don't remember if he was [...] If they used him as that okay as a GM that would be a good role," said Morgan. Dutch Mantell on Shane McMahon potentially joining AEW

During one of the recent editions of his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, Mantell also commented on the possibility of Shane McMahon becoming All Elite.

He said that the 54-year-old's popularity in the promotion would die down within three months of his arrival if there was no agreement between the Jacksonville-based promotion and WWE in place.

"I don't see Shane going there and if he does go there without trying to do any kind of an agreement with WWE, I'll give it three months and it'll die the death of the dog," said Mantell.

The last time fans saw the Boy Wonder on WWE television or inside the squared circle was in April 2023 at WWE WrestleMania 39. He had an impromptu match against The Miz. Unfortunately, however, McMahon tore his quads and had to be evacuated by medical staff.
