Former WWE star seemingly hints at returning as The Devil in AEW
Pro wrestling fans might soon see the return of The Devil in AEW. Former WWE star Adam Cole recently teased returning as the masked character.
The inaugural WWE NXT North American Champion revealed himself as the person behind The Devil mask who had been tormenting MJF for months at Worlds End PPV in December last year.
MJF and Cole couldn't continue The Devil storyline as the former went on a hiatus to tend to his injuries. Unfortunately, when The Salt of the Earth returned, the former NXT Champion got sidelined (also due to an injury).
Recently, Adam Cole shared a tweet on X featuring J. Cole and used the lyrics of his song 'pride.is.the.devil' as the caption for his post.
"Will I have anything, or will I be destroyed…" the caption read.
A few days ago, The Panama City Playboy posted a couple of teasers for his return to action. His recent tweet could be a solid that he might bring back his Devil character upon his comeback.
Check out his latest tweet below.
Former WWE star Adam Cole might continue The Devil storyline in AEW
It seems like Adam Cole might bring back his Devil character. As mentioned earlier, he and The Wolf of Wrestling couldn't continue the storyline, therefore the fans might see the stars revive the plot when the former WWE star returns to TV.
In one of Cole's return teasers, he posted an old photo of himself staring at MJF's title. This could potentially mean he might go after the AEW International Championship which has been rechristened as AEW American Championship by MJF.
The last time fans saw him in AEW was at the AEW Double or Nothing PPV where Friedman attacked him. He has been absent from TV since then. In a recent interview, MJF mocked Cole and stated that the latter might never come back after taking a humiliating beating from him.
