Former WWE star suggests innovative measures for security of female wrestlers (Exclusive)
Former AEW and WWE star Saraya has seen support emerge from all sides in the professional wrestling world. The former AEW Women's World Champion was approached by a fan at a fan signing event recently. She was at the receiving end of an unwelcome advance from the fan, who tried to kiss the wrestler.
The incident raised questions regarding concerns about the safety of female wrestlers at such events. The wrestling world features numerous conventions where fans have the opportunity to interact with wrestlers, and the safety of everyone attending the event must be of utmost priority.
Addressing the issue on the latest episode of The Wrestling Outlaws on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, former WWE star EC3 came up with an interesting solution. The wrestler suggested getting up-and-coming wrestlers to pose as security personnel during such conventions.
"So I'd only suggest, is there a compromise that a promoter bringing in a high profile female talent to get your biggest up and coming guy, slap a black shirt on, tuck it in, tie a belt, stand there very close, not in the picture line, but close enough where like a deterrent would be effective," EC3 said. The unfortunate incident involving the former WWE star poses a lot of questions regarding the safety of female stars in the industry. While meeting and greeting fans is an important aspect of a wrestler's relationship with their supporters, the fans in attendance should be mindful of boundaries.
