Former WWE star teases returning to AEW as Ricochet's mystery partner, they last teamed up in 2017
Ricochet is set to tag with a mystery partner in an upcoming match on AEW Dynamite. A former WWE star has now teased that he could be the mystery partner for the bout.
Matt Sydal first gained a lot of traction due to his time in the WWE where he wrestled under the ring name Evan Bourne. Despite being a promising and popular star, Sydal was eventually released from the company.
Since his release, Sydal has continued to work in the Indies and has wrestled for several promotions across the United States including AEW. It now looks like Matt Sydal might return to AEW again.
Recently, Tony Khan's promotion announced on social media that this week on Dynamite, Ricochet will team up with a mystery partner to take on the team of Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. Sydal reacted to this tweet with multiple open eyes emojis, teasing that he could be the former NXT star's partner. If this is the case, it will be the first time they are teaming up since 2017 when they teamed up against Marty Scurll and Zack Sabre Jr. at PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2017.
Ricochet has been collecting wins on AEW TV
Since his arrival in AEW, Ricochet has proven why he is one of the best high-flyers in the world of professional wrestling. He has been active every week on AEW TV and has been collecting wins in singles matches.
His first singles match for Tony Khan's promotion took place on the 28 August episode of Dynamite when he defeated Kyle Fletcher. Since then, he has continued his winning ways and has picked up wins against Sammy Guevara, The Beast Mortos, AR Fox, Nick Wayne, and Lio Rush. The only singles match where he wasn't the winner was his bout against Will Ospreay which ended in a no contest after Konosuke Takeshita attacked both competitors.
It will be interesting to see how long will the former WWE star continue this impressive run he is on.
