Former WWE Superstar’s AEW contract expiring “relatively soon” - Reports
Former WWE Superstar Keith Lee's current deal with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is reportedly set to expire soon. Lee made his debut in the Tony Khan-led company back in February 2022. He performed for the Stamford-based promotion between 2018 and 2021.
Lee is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion. The 39-year-old has faced some of the biggest names in the company, such as Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe. However, his stint has been marred with injuries and inconsistent booking. Lee has been absent from TV since the December 23, 2023, episode of Collision, where he defeated Brian Cage in a singles match. He underwent double surgery on an undisclosed injury earlier this year.
Meanwhile, a recent report from Ibou of WrestlePurists has revealed that Keith Lee's contract with Tony Khan's promotion will expire "relatively soon.'' However, the report did not reveal the exact length of Lee's deal or the remaining time of his contract.
AEW star Keith Lee recently expressed his gratitude toward his supporters
As noted above, Keith Lee has struggled with injuries in recent times. Lee has been out of in-ring action since December 2023. In May 2024, the talented wrestler took to his Twitter (X) account and thanked his well-wishers for reaching out to him.
"I don't spend a lot of time with social media these days. But I wanted to make sure I popped on here to give thanks to many of you. The ones who reach out privately. The ones who tweet publicly. The ones who share positive things. I see you. I thank you. I appreciate you! Lee wrote.
It will be interesting to see if Keith Lee returns to in-ring action in the coming months. Additionally, it will be interesting to see if the former WWE star returns to the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in the future.
