Former WWE Superstar teases championship pursuit in AEW in 2025

A former WWE Superstar has teased pursuing titles in AEW in 2025 and it surely seems like there is a lot of optimism in the air. The fans will no doubt be looking forward to seeing them win some silverware in the coming year.

FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler had a tumultuous 2024 but they ended it on a great note when they showed up alongside Adam Copeland at AEW Worlds End to confront the Death Riders. In doing that, they pretty much confirmed their intentions to go after the faction and also after their titles.

Dax Harwood, who is a very outspoken member of FTR was recently giving an interview with 3NT Wrestling when he was asked about his plans for next year. The former WWE Superstar responded by talking about his intentions of going after the trios and tag team titles.

“If there comes an opportunity where we can be like Arn [Anderson] and Tully Blanchard, where we can still be a unit, but maybe do our own thing, then that’s something I could think about. But I would imagine, in 2025, we’ll be gunning for some trios gold, and we might get back to the AEW World Tag Team Championships eventually,” Harwood said. [H/T: Ringside News]

Former WWE Superstar Dax Harwood talks about never wanting to leave his tag team partner behind

In the same interview, the former WWE Superstar stressed how he and Cash Wheeler came together initially as a tag team and decided how they would go about things.

Harwood also revealed how he would never want to leave Cash Wheeler behind to do his own thing.

“I knew that if I had another guy who had the same limitations as me, albeit he’s a little bit better looking than I am, but he has the same limitations as me, if we could work together, because I knew how talented he was and I knew how talented I am, we could go down as the greatest tag team of all time, and that was our goal. 2022 came around, and I embarked on a ton of singles matches, and they were pretty well critically acclaimed. But I would never want to leave Cash behind and do my own thing,” Harwood said.

With their intentions made clear at AEW Worlds End, it will be interesting to see what 2025 has in store for FTR.
