Former WWE United States Champion passes out in first match since 2022
On Sunday, former WWE United States Champion MVP returned to the squared circle and wrestled his first match since 2022. His recent bout was incredible but unfortunately, the star passed out at the end.
His last match before Sunday was on the July 18 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, where he and Omos teamed up to face The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). His team lost the tag team match.
Montel Vontavious Porter faced Josh Barnett in a losing effort on GCW Josh Barnett's Bloodsport XII Pay-Per-View held at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 24. He lost the match after Barnett locked him in a rear naked choke, which caused him to pass out.
The referee stopped the match, calling for the bell and declaring his opponent the winner by technical submission.
Former WWE star MVP showed off his impressive physique before his return match
A few days before his in-ring return against Josh Barnett at Bloodsport XII, MVP took to Instagram to show off his impressive physique. He also shared a message to hype himself up for his Sunday match.
"This is 51. The best I have looked in a VERY long time! I'm usually too embarrassed to be seen without a shirt! I have a long way to go, but I am far from finished. Over the past few years, there were extended periods where I looked like a chewed up piece of bubblegum. NO MORE! I have some unfinished business in the ring and on the mats! Shout out to ALL my training partners and those who inspire me."
When MVP was away from the ring, he had taken managerial roles. Currently, he is the on-screen manager for The Hurt Syndicate. Before he arrived in AEW, he used to manage Omos in WWE.
