Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion drops massive tease about his son's future - "His true passion is pro wrestling"
A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is confident that his son will join professional wrestling. The name in question is none other than Mark Henry.
The World's Strongest Man is one of the most successful stars in professional wrestling. He won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2011 and had one of the most memorable runs where he introduced his opponents to the Hall of Pain. Meanwhile, it seems like the veteran's son, Jacob Henry, has similar goals when it comes to professional wrestling.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, the former AEW star revealed that his son's true passion was pro wrestling. The veteran stated Jacob intends to headline WrestleMania one day and become a champion in Japan.
“His true passion is pro wrestling. He’s not trying to be an Olympic champion in wrestling. He said, ‘I don’t want to go to the Pro Bowl or win a Super Bowl. I want to main event WrestleMania and go to Japan and be a champion.’ I’m like, ‘Bro, those are hefty goals!’ But I tell you what? If your goals don’t scare you, then you’re playing it safe. You’re not going to make it unless you have high, high dreams,” he said. [H/T: RingsideNews]
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry opens up about his future after AEW exit
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently departed from AEW after spending almost three years with the Jacksonville-based promotion.
In an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda's Bill Apter, the veteran revealed that he's looking forward to focusing on the Mark Henry Strong Kids program, where he would teach young talent to not only get stronger physically but also emotionally and mentally.
"I needed time to focus some attention on Mark Henry Strong Kids. My lovechild, if you will, to the world, trying to teach kids how to not only get stronger physically, but get stronger mentally and emotionally, and explain to them how to be strong in willpower and discipline, and also teach them how to compete. So, Mark Henry Strong Kids is number one," he said. [1:50-2:27]
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the veteran returns to the Stamford-based promotion in the future.
