Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion pulled from upcoming show after calling out AEW President Tony Khan
A former WWE star recently made some controversial comments about AEW President Tony Khan. He now has to face the consequences of his actions.
Jake Hager joined AEW in 2019. He was a prominent feature on TV since the early days of the promotion. He was involved in a faction with Chris Jericho called The Inner Circle, where he found success for being the group's muscle.
After The Inner Circle disbanded, Jake Hager remained by Chris Jericho's side as they formed the Jericho Appreciation Society. However, his presence on TV slowly diminished with time. He finally left the promotion earlier this year.
Hager was set to make an appearance for an upcoming Blitzkrieg Pro event on December 14th. However, he made the choice to take to social media and show his support for Donald Trump. He also called his former boss, Tony Khan, a "communist" in a now-deleted tweet.
Blitzkrieg Pro took to social media to announce that Jake Hager will no longer be making an appearance for its December 14th show. The promotion mentioned that sponsors weren't willing to work with him and a replacement would be announced soon.
"Jake Hagar will no longer be appearing on December 14th in Enfield, CT. On top of sponsors no longer being willing to work with him, we also just have to do what we think is right for our roster and fans. We’re going to get to work on a replacement asap, however, a few people that are signed to appear: @theakiraway / @MarcusMathers1 / @CharlieTiger_ / @cpawrestles / @TJCWrestling / @PerryVonVicious"

Jake Hager claims that AEW President Tony Khan threatened him to be silent
Jake Hager remained with AEW from 2019 to 2024. During this time, he was involved in several major storylines. While he was booked strongly initially, Hager's creative direction fizzled towards the later part of his run and he opted not to re-sign with the promotion when his contract expired.
Recently, Jake Hager took to social media to call his former boss a communist. He also mentioned that Tony Khan tried to silence him. He has since deleted his tweet.
"Do u want proof that @TonyKhan is a communist and threatened me to be silent or else?" he wrote.
It will be interesting to see what further impact these comments about Tony Khan might have on Hager's career.
