Frustrated AEW star wants to face Claudio Castagnoli and The Elite member ahead of All In
An AEW star, who was last seen on Dynamite in July, has expressed his wish to face Claudio Castagnoli and a member of The Elite ahead of All In 2024. The talent in question is Lance Archer.
The Murderhawk Monster arrived in the Jacksonville-based promotion in 2020, alongside WWE legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts, with the latter acting as his manager. The 47-year-old star is one of AEW's most impressive athletes, known for combining his unparalleled power with his remarkable agility and quickness in his in-ring work.
Despite having worked with multiple top names in the company, including Hangman Page, Jon Moxley, and more recently, Will Ospreay, Archer has mostly been wrestling in Ring of Honor in recent months, with the exception of a few, occasional Dynamite and Collision appearances.
The Ticked Off Texan, it seems, now has his sights set on a major All Elite Wrestling championship. An AEW Continental Title bout was recently announced between the number one contender Claudio Castagnoli and champion Kazuchika Okada for next week's Dynamite in Cardiff, Wales. The Rainmaker even had an amusing face-off with The Swiss Superman on this week's edition of the Wednesday night show.
Lance Archer recently took to X/Twitter and voiced his desire to be included in the upcoming Continental Championship bout between Kazuchika Okada and Claudio Castagnoli on Dynamite in Cardiff, correcting himself from a previous tweet where he mistakenly stated that the bout was set for AEW All In 2024.
"I feel like the @rainmakerXokada @ClaudioCSRO match at @AEW All IN should be a triple threat," Archer wrote.
He then corrected himself and updated the tweet with the correct information.
"Sorry. Dynamite next wk. But, yea. Feeling is still same," Archer corrected himself and clarified.

Wrestling veteran Konnan called out AEW over Lance Archer's creative handling
Lance Archer's booking in All Elite Wrestling has come under criticism from fans as well as from veterans of the industry. One such figure who recently called out the Tony Khan-led promotion for supposedly mishandling the former IWGP Tag Team Champion is none other than Konnan.
Speaking on Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL earlier this month, Konnan offered his creative insight for booking Archer and another underrated All Elite big man, Brian Cage.
"That's exactly how they've been booking Lance Archer since he got there. It's pathetic bro, because the guy's a very professional good guy, can go and they're doing it again. Same thing with Brian Cage. I mean, you know, he always has a great match but always loses to the name guy. He'll beat some no name nobody which does him no good, especially he looks like a star, built like a beast and all you got to do is just feature them. Put them in a couple rivalries where they go over and they're memorable and you tell a good story and get them over." [1:24 - 2:00]
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Archer and Cage in All Elite Wrestling.
