Gangrel makes an admission about the late great Eddie Guerrero (Exclusive)
Amongst the legendary wrestlers who left the world too early, Eddie Guerrero was arguably one of the most skilled. During an exclusive chat with Bill Apter, Gangrel revealed that he would've loved to share the ring with Latino Heat.
Gangrel (real name David Heath) most recently appeared for AEW at Double or Nothing 2024, where he helped Adam Copeland (fka Edge) in his match against Malakai Black.
The Attitude Era legend sat down for an insightful interview with Sportskeeda's very own Bill Apter and was asked about his dream matches. The first name Gangrel mentioned was Eddie Guerrero, who unfortunately passed away at the age of 38 in 2005.
The Vampire Warrior revealed that he would've loved to have a singles match against Guerrero in his prime. The 55-year-old also mentioned Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig, Ray Stevens, and Johnny Valentine as his dream opponents:
"I have so many (laughs). I can start with Eddie Guerrero! Eddie Guerrero, Curt Hennig. Those are two for sure, right there. Those are definitely two! If I was a little bit older, I would have loved to have worked with Johnny Valentine, if I was in that era, or Ray Stevens, as I loved watching those two guys." [From 10:03 to 10:30]

What does Gangrel think about modern pro wrestling?
David Heath might be known for his vampire gimmick, but the respected veteran is a student of the game and loves every aspect of pro wrestling, including the always-evolving in-ring styles.
While Heath didn't mind high-flying wrestling, the former WWE star personally preferred some storytelling in matches. Gangrel stressed that for a match to be remembered as a classic, it must also have "perfect moments" apart from eye-catching moves.
"Well, if you're asking me about my personal preference, I think it wouldn't hurt to have a little storytelling in wrestling, you know. Meaningful moves make moments. Wrestling is about moments. People remember moments. You all gotta come together to make those perfect moments. So, I think you could use a little bit of storytelling in wrestling. I'm not against all the flying and high sequences." [From 05:32 to 05:58]
Gangrel is currently one of the best trainers in pro wrestling. He works tremendously hard to help usher in the next generation of pro wrestlers.
