GCW issues statement after AEW's Ricky Starks pulled from events amid Tony Khan dispute

GCW recently posted on social media after Tony Khan withdrew Ricky Starks from appearing in the company. The latter showing up recently was been one of the crucial talking points of the company recently.

The Absolute star hasn't wrestled in the Jacksonville-based promotion since March 2024. Plenty of theories are floating around on social media on why he wasn't a part of the company's creative process despite being fit. In the last few weeks, he resumed appearing in independent promotions and was announced to wrestle multiple matches.

One of the most anticipated matches among them was his contest against GCW's Matt Cardona. He was also scheduled to work on future GCW events. However, recent reports disclosed that Tony Khan has barred the AEW star from working with the major promotion. The shocking move reportedly came after GCW official named Effy took shots at Tony Khan and also made comments about Shad Khan on a podcast.

GCW recently released an official statement where they announced that Ricky Starks wouldn't be able to work scheduled dates.

"We have just been informed that Ricky Starks has been pulled from all upcoming GCW appearances, including his announced match on 12/14 in Los Angeles, his unannounced match on 12/28 in Seattle and his unannounced match on 1/19 at The Hammerstein Ballroom," GCW wrote.

It will be interesting to see if The Absolute one will return to action in AEW after being pulled out of GCW shows.
