“He’ll retire on what Tony Khan will give him this time,” says veteran on the possibility of top WWE star joining AEW

A wrestling veteran discussed a current WWE Superstar potentially going to AEW in the future. The star being discussed is Kevin Owens.

The former Universal Champion has become a household name in the global sports entertainment juggernaut through the years. He has even main evented WrestleMania twice in a row. He has currently formed an alliance with Randy Orton and regularly teams up with The Viper on SmackDown.

The 40-year-old star previously had worked closely with The Young Bucks in ROH before the former signed with WWE in 2014. Also, he has many friends who are current AEW stars. Speculations are running around that his contract will be expiring in a few months and many veterans believe that Kevin might explore AEW as an option.

While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran claimed that Tony Khan would pay tons of money to Kevin Owens to sign with AEW, which could even mean that he would not have to need to work again in the future.

"He will never work again. He'll retire on what Tony will give him this time," Jim said. [05:38 - 05:42]

Kevin Owens gave an update on his WWE contract back in May

The Prizefighter has been a huge asset for WWE for over a decade now. He has been one of the top stars in the company and achieved multiple milestones throughout his ride in the promotion.

While speaking with Metro.co.uk in May 2024, Kevin Owens said that his WWE contract expires in nine months, which means his contract will possibly expire around February/March 2025.

"I really don’t take anything for granted, I’ve nine months left on my contact, and I don’t know what can happen from here on out. This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life," he said.

It will be interesting to see if Kevin Owens would sign with AEW when his current contract expires.
