"He's going to wrestle again somewhere one would assume," says AEW legend on Bryan Danielson
Bryan Danielson had his last match as a full-time wrestling star at WrestleDream in Tacoma Dome on October 12, 2024. AEW legend Jim Ross recently commented on whether he will return to the ring.
At the WrestleDream PPV, Bryan went head-to-head against his former Blackpool Combat Club stablemate, Jon Moxley, who turned against him and attacked him at All Out earlier this year. Despite all the efforts, he couldn't beat his challenger and lost the AEW World Championship to The Purveyor of Violence.
Earlier, he had stated that he would retire from full-time wrestling when he dropped his title. Therefore, WrestleDream was his last appearance as an active full-time wrestler.
Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross talked about Bryan Danielson's in-ring future. He said he doesn't have any idea if there is a chance the fans might see The American Dragon return to the squared circle.
He said, "He's going to wrestle again somewhere one would assume, based on what he said, but there's no guarantee of that. He may change his mind and want to get back in the fray and try to win the title back and then retire. H*ll, who knows? I don't have any idea." [From 3:35 to 3:50]
Jim Ross was left speechless after Bryan Danielson's defeat
In his Grilling JR podcast, JR also mentioned that he had no words for what he witnessed at the end of Bryan Danielson's match against Jon Moxley. The moment was so shocking that it rendered him speechless:
"He obviously lost the title, so I take him above any wrestler I’ve ever met at his word. I didn’t know what to say. ‘Why didn’t you say something?’ Not my people, but just some fans. There was nothing I could add that would help it," he added.
Jim Ross was on the commentary table for the last two matches at WrestleDream. The main event of the PPV featured The Death Rider beating Danielson for the title and his BCC teammates attacking him mercilessly.
