High expectations for former AEW champions' Full Gear match
Several matches have already been added to the card for this year's edition of AEW Full Gear, which will be taking place in just a few weeks. A veteran has claimed that one of these matches could end up stealing the whole show. This was veteran JR's prediction about the upcoming bout between 'Hangman' Adam Page and Jay White.
This grudge match, which is set to be the third installment in their feud, was one of the first matches to be made official for the pay-per-view. Both men are currently tied with one win apiece in this feud, with White being the winner of their latest bout which took place at WrestleDream last month.
During a recent edition of Grilling JR, Jim Ross mentioned how much he was looking forward to this match. He believed that this was a pay-per-view main event of the year caliber match. He mentioned how both their personas were in similar places at this point in their careers.
"That’s gonna be a hell of a match, Conrad. I’m telling you, that could be a pay-per-view main event of the year type of level match, that’s the expectation that I have for it. Not just another pay-per-view main event where you know they’re gonna work their a** off. Both of these guys are at unique points in their career, they both see light, and when you can see light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, that’s a good thing. These are two really good talents, two really good talents."
He had high praise for the in-ring skills of both competitors. But in the case of Jay White, he believed that he was yet to see his best match in AEW. According to JR, the two stars could steal the show.
"Hangman Page, his footwork and the way he positions himself, he’s really advanced. As far as Jay White has concerned, I don’t think we have yet, and he’s had some good ones, I don't think we have yet to see the best match in AEW out of Jay White. I’ve seen him at his very, very best and he is spectacular. He’s freaking spectacular. They got a chance to steal the show." [5:08 - 6:23]
Hangman Adam Page had scathing words for Jay White ahead of AEW Full Gear
Almost two weeks ago on Dynamite, Hangman had a few words for Jay White after their match for AEW Full Gear was made official. He claimed that he would leave the pay-per-view as the victor and leave White broken like those who came before him.
"I can tell you one thing for sure, one thing that is certain, at the end of Full Gear, when, not if, but when I beat you, I will stand over you, my hand raised, and leave you like I have left so many others who stood up in front of me. Hurt, with less than you had before. Jay White, I will leave you behind."
Both AEW stars have something to gain from a win at Full Gear, and this could potentially be the match that settles this feud between them. It remains to be seen who comes out on top, as both men have had a decent run as of late.
