Hook achieves major milestone outside AEW!

AEW star Hook has not been seen on weekly programming since April due to a kayfabe attack off-camera by the Death Riders. The star has now achieved a major milestone outside the promotion.

Before he was written off TV in April, the former three-time FTW champion was aligned with The Opps and was scheduled to compete in an AEW Trios Championship match. Despite making an appearance at the recent Double or Nothing PPV, Hook has not returned to the regular weekly events in All Elite Wrestling.

Outside of the Tony Khan-led company, The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil had landed a movie role in a short film called "Money Talks," and today was the movie's world premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival 2025, marking a huge milestone for the star.

Earlier today, Hook's father, Taz, shared a post on X addressing the premiere and wrote:

We went to the movies tonight! HOOK on the BIG screen…tonight was world premiere of Money Talks @Tribeca @AngelikaFilm_NY @730hook

Hook made his return to the Jacksonville-based promotion at Double or Nothing to even the odds against the Death Riders during the Anarchy in the Arena match. However, it was later reported that the star was still not medically cleared to compete.

While the star continues to build himself outside of the wrestling business, fans will be curious to see what's next for Hook in AEW once he is fit to compete in the squared circle.

AEW's Taz recently compared Hook to John Cena

John Cena is historically known for making extravagant entrances at The Grandest Stage of Them All. However, his entrance at WrestleMania 41 was far from spectacular. The GOAT simply walked down the ramp with his name displayed in white bold letters across a black backdrop. Cena has used this presentation for his entrance since.

Fans were quick to notice that the presentation was similar to Hook's entrance in All Elite Wrestling. Hook's father, Taz, also commented on the matter by posting a photo of the 17-time WWE Champion wearing an official Hook T-shirt on X. (The post has since been deleted.)
