House of Black member breaks silence on rumors of Malakai Black leaving AEW

There have been rumors for a while that Malakai Black was leaving AEW. A House of Black member has now commented on those rumors.

Julia Hart wasn't an original member of the House of Black faction. She joined the group a little later. However, since joining them, Julia has transformed herself into one of the top stars in the women's locker room. Her success can be attributed to Malakai Black who was willing to add her to his faction.

Sadly, Black's future in AEW is up in the air. After he lost to Adam Cole on the 6th November episode of Dynamite, fans speculated that he could be leaving AEW or retiring. However, Black debunked those rumors. It hasn't helped his case that he hasn't appeared on AEW TV since November 2024 which has only added more fuel to the fire.

During a recent interview with Instinct Culture, Julia Hart addressed the rumors and said she isn't sure what the future holds for Black but is happy for him regardless:

“I think we’ll be okay, and whatever he decides to do with his career is his business, and I wish him all the best no matter what. He has been such a great rock for me, and I appreciate everything he’s ever done with me. But also the rumors aren’t confirmed or anything, so I don’t know what exactly is going on."

She also said that the House of Black will be fine without him as she will continue to dominate the women's locker room while Brody King and Buddy Matthews will continue to dominate the men's locker room:

"So it’s just a matter of whatever happens, happens, and I’m happy for him no matter what happens, and I think House of Black will be okay [laughs]. No matter what happens. I think I’ll keep destroying the women’s locker room [laughs], and Brody and Buddy will destroy the men’s locker room. Everything will be okay, and I am happy for everybody no matter what," Hart said. [H/T Fightful]

People in the locker believe Malakai Black is gone from AEW

Malakai Black's booking in recent months has been a mystery. After a massive push at the start of his run, his booking has slowly dwindled over the past year. This started the speculation that Black could be leaving the Jacksonville-based promotion. It appears that even people within the company believe he is gone.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that people backstage in AEW believe he has left the company:

"If Malakai gets mad, because he got mad last time, I just want him to know that he needs to get mad at the people in the back because the people in the back believe he is gone. For whatever that’s worth." [H/T: Cultaholic Wrestling]

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for AEW star Malakai Black.
