Huge name drops hint at imminent AEW return
AEW star Tay Melo has seemingly teased her return to the Jacksonville-based promotion on her official X (Twitter) account. The 29-year-old's last in-ring performance for Tony Khan's company came on the January 11, 2023, episode of Rampage. She and Anna Jay locked horns with Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale in a Street Fight in a losing cause.
In May 2023, Tay Melo and her husband Sammy Guevara revealed that the couple was expecting their first child. Melo gave birth to a daughter on November 28, 2023.
Interestingly, PWInsider reported yesterday that there were backstage talks during the recent episode of Collision about Melo's return to AEW. The report also claimed that she could return on this week's Dynamite.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian professional wrestler recently took to her X (Twitter) account and dropped a subtle hint about her potential in-ring return.
The AEW star posted a GIF of herself with colors of the Brazil national flag painted on her face.
Tay Melo is adamant to win a title in AEW
Last year, Melo's husband Sammy Guevara uploaded a vlog on his YouTube channel in which she was asked to reveal her goals after her return to in-ring competition.
In response, Melo revealed her desire to hold all the titles in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
"I wanna get a title. All the belts, I’m not kidding. I’m gonna go for it all. Of course, I want the world title. But I’m up to do the TBS [Title], too. It’s literally like I was never motivated enough, I think. It’s almost like, ‘Yeah, everybody wants a title.’ But I was never like, ‘I want it more than anything,’ and right now, I do. So I’m getting it because I don’t know one thing in my life that I wanted to do and I never did. So it is what it is," she said. [H/T: Fightful]
It will be interesting to see if Tay Melo returns to AEW TV in the coming days.
