Huge shift in betting odds, top champion now expected to lose at AEW WrestleDream 2024

There has been a huge shift in the betting odds for AEW WrestleDream 2023. Will Ospreay is expected to lose his championship belt at the PPV.

WrestleDream 2024 will take place on October 12, 2024, at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. Tony Khan has an interesting match card lined up for the event and one of the bouts will feature Ospreay (c), Ricochet, and Konosuke Takeshita in a three-way match for the AEW International Championship.

That said, over the past 24 hours, the betting odds have undergone a massive shift. The Aerial Assassin and The One and Only are underdogs at +1100 and +1400 odds. While Konosuke Takeshita is a clear favorite and sits at -200. This shift suggests that Takeshita could walk out of WrestleDream 2024 as the new International Champion.

On the April 24th episode of Dynamite, Ospreay won a Casino Gauntlet Match, thus earning the right to challenge Roderick Strong for the International Championship at Double or Nothing. He then defeated Strong to win the International Championship at the PPV, kicking off his first title reign in All Elite Wrestling.

Top AEW champion Will Ospreay addresses major allegations against him

Will Ospreay was already a major star before he arrived in AEW. But still, he fought his way to the top of the All Elite roster. However, some fans believe that his matches have been somewhat underwhelming as he doesn't put as much effort into selling his bouts in Tony Khan's promotion compared to his work on the indies.

Ospreay debunked these claims in a recent interview on the Masked Man show. He stated that people don't know his backstory and a lot goes in a wrestler's mind while they're inside the ring.

Ospreay has been in the wrestling business since the 2010s. He began his wrestling journey in 2012 and has worked in a bunch of top promotions like New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Ring of Honor, Revolution Pro-Wrestling, Frontline Wrestling, TNA Wrestling, and more.
