Huge update on AEW star's injury status ahead of Dynamite: Title Tuesday
A top AEW name provided massive news about his health status ahead of Dynamite: Title Tuesday. The star being discussed is Taz. He was attacked on last week's Dynamite.
The former ECW World Heavyweight Champion has been calling the action from the commentary desk at AEW since the inception of the company. Many fans feel that he is one of the best ECW veterans around and even managed Team Taz during the pandemic era. However, the group was disbanded in August 2022.
Last week, Taz was attacked in the parking lot ahead of Dynamite. He was immediately hospitalized and claimed that he had badly hurt his leg. On the show, Hook called out the attacker. This week on Dynamite: Title Tuesday, the former FTW Champion will be summoning the mystery attacker.
In reality, a recent report disclosed that the ECW veteran will be having a knee replacement surgery. As of now, no timetable for his return could be predicted. While he is recovering, Hook will be starting a new feud with the mystery attacker.
Recently, Taz took to X/Twitter and confirmed that his surgery was successful. He also wrote that the hospital didn't admit him to room number 13.
"Look on my face when I requested room 13 and they missed by 5! Surgery went well, now the work begins. Watch #AEWDynamite special time & night TONIGHT 9p ET. @AEW @TBSNetwork," he wrote.
AEW's Taz and his son Hook shared an emotional moment recently
Taz introduced the FTW Championship in 1998. He reintroduced the championship after the Jacksonville-based promotion had launched and Hook was the reigning FTW Champion. He was slated to defend the title at Dynamite: Grand Slam against Roderick Strong.
After successfully defending the championship, Hook handed the title back to Taz and announced its retirement. The ECW veteran was visibly emotional during the moment.
It will be interesting to see who is revealed as the mystery attacker of Taz and how the feud against HOOK plays out in the future.
