Huge update on former AEW performer's return after injury
A former AEW star has provided an update on his road to recovery following a serious injury. The star also revealed that the timeline for his recovery has been pushed up due to great progress. This would be Anthony Henry.
Henry, one-half of the WorkHorsemen, has been out of action since the October 3 ROH TV taping due to a significant arm injury. Anthony confirmed he tore his left bicep off the bone during his match against Gabe Kidd on ROH, and he needed to get surgery to begin his recovery.
On X/Twitter, Anthony Henry revealed that he has made great progress with his recovery post-surgery. He can do things he shouldn't be able to do yet this early into his recovery period. He claimed he may be cleared for in-ring action after another six weeks.
"Apparently, I am an anomaly. Only about two weeks post-op, and I am out of the immobilizer and already moving freely with nearly full ROM. Fingers crossed BUT, I think I can be cleared in another 6 weeks. #workhorsemen," Henry posted.
Anthony Henry's tag team partner suffered a gruesome attack last weekend at AEW Rampage
With his tag team partner still recovering from injury, JD Drake made a brief appearance last Friday on Rampage to support BEEF, who is supposedly Anthony Henry's second cousin.
BEEF was set for action against The Beast Mortos of LFI. JD accompanied him to the ring while the luchador had his stablemates at ringside. It was a well-contest match between both men, but Rush and Dralistico's involvement shifted this the other way.
Mortos was able to steal a win, and post-match, LFI began to attack him and whip him with the camera cables at ringside. JD Drake was hesitant to help, but eventually, the luchadors would come to get him and attack him as well.
It remains to be seen if this was the two AEW stars just happened to get on the wrong side of LFI or if they'll revisit this once Anthony Henry is cleared for action and re-signs with the promotion.
The WorkHorsemen haven't competed in AEW since May, when they faced Daniel Garcia and Katsuyori Shibata.
