Huge update on former WWE champion's in-ring debut on AEW

A former WWE stablemate of Bobby Lashley's is set to make his AEW in-ring debut soon. The talent in question is Shelton Benjamin. Latest reports have also talked about the star's in-ring status.

The former WWE United States Champion, alongside MVP, confronted Swerve Strickland during his return at WrestleDream 2024. The former World Champion definitively turned down The Franchise Player's offer of joining forces, voicing his loyalty to his manager Prince Nana. He would also engage in some physicality with Benjamin in response to the latter's threat, although MVP, Nana, and All Elite officials managed to separate the two men before a brawl could break out.

Afterward, MVP and Benjamin would interrupt a backstage interview featuring Lio Rush, during which the latter revealed that he was back in All Elite Wrestling. Rush did not take too kindly to the disruption and stood up to the former WWE Superstars, who in turn asked The Man of The Hour about his availability on Wednesday.

All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan has now announced on X/Twitter that Shelton Benjamin will make his in-ring debut in the Jacksonville-based promotion against Lio Rush this week on Dynamite.

"#AEWDynamite This WEDNESDAY, 10/16 San Jose, CA 8pm ET/7pm CT, TBS Shelton Benjamin w/ @The305MVP vs @IamLioRush After Lio’s announcement that he’s back signed with [All Elite Wrestling] was interrupted by The Hurt Syndicate, @Sheltyb803 makes his @AEW debut vs Lio Rush on TBS, THIS WEDNESDAY!" wrote Khan.

The Hurt Syndicate may soon be at full strength in AEW

MVP's All Elite Wrestling debut at Dynamite: Grand Slam 2024 added fuel to ongoing speculations stemming from reports of a Hurt Business reunion in the promotion. Later, on the fifth-anniversary episode of Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin was revealed to be the newest addition to the All Elite roster, and MVP's new "business partner".

Soon afterward, it was reported that MVP, Benjamin, and their former WWE stablemate Bobby Lashley were all signed with AEW. More recently, it has been claimed that The All Mighty is expected to make his arrival on programming soon, even though he has supposedly not been present backstage for recent shows, including WrestleDream 2024, despite at some point having been considered for the pay-per-view.

It remains to be seen what The Hurt Syndicate has in store for fans of All Elite Wrestling.
