Hulk Hogan demands answers from Adam Copeland (fka Edge) amid AEW hiatus
Hulk Hogan has questioned Adam Copeland's recent spot in AEW. The Hulkster made a huge contribution to WWE's success, and his popularity in the 90s was unparalleled.
Meanwhile, Adam Copeland, fka Edge, made a huge name in the Stamford-based promotion with his excellent heel work and won multiple championships. He then decided to switch promotions and debuted on AEW in 2023.
The Rated-R Superstar was enjoying his time in the Jacksonville-based promotion as the reigning TNT Champion. Unfortunately, he injured his leg after attempting to jump off a cage at this year's Double or Nothing pay-per-view. He underwent surgery and is currently recovering on a hiatus.
While speaking on The Outbound Life, Hulk Hogan was upset and wondered why Copeland jumped off the cage at this career stage. The Hall of Famer said that Rated-R Superstar is already an established name and doesn't need to prove himself.
“I watched Edge [Copeland] jump off the cage the other night. I haven’t talked to him yet, but trained professional. Twilight of his career. Jumps off the top. Please explain that to me. He’s over. Most guys who do that go up and do it because they are not over enough. Edge was over. To do that, I just don’t get it. I haven’t called him yet. I was going to call him last night, but I fell asleep. I just want to know, ‘Please explain that to me. You’re over like a son of a gun. You didn’t need to do that. You didn’t need to go up there,’" Hogan said. [H/T - Ringside News]
Vince Russo claims Tony Khan has made Mercedes Mone seem like Hulk Hogan
Since debuting in the promotion, Mercedes Mone has been in the top spot in the AEW women's division. She is reportedly a top earner in the company and currently holds two championships.
While speaking on The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo claimed Tony Khan is making the CEO seem like Hulk Hogan.
"Not only that, Chris, especially with what he's paid her. He's made her feel like she literally is Hulk Hogan. With the money he gave her, that's the precedent he set. I agree with you, bro. She's probably not gonna do the right thing [regarding her creative control]," Russo said.
With Hulk Hogan, it remains to be seen if the Hall of Famer will ever step foot in AEW.
