Former WWE star Deonna Purrazzo recently opened up about getting body-shamed by the fans after her AEW debut. Deonna was signed to WWE from 2018 to 2020.
The Virtuosa reinvented herself after becoming a huge star in TNA. Deonna Purrazzo signed with AEW earlier this year and is looking to conquer the promotion's women's division. However, the former WWE star faced many setbacks after her All Elite Wrestling debut like negativity and body shaming.
In a recent chat on Insights with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Deonna Purrazo revealed how she dealt with the body-shaming earlier in her career. The AEW star said she was focused on getting better for herself and revealed that she cried because of the hateful comments on the internet however, is grateful for the support of her fans and family:
"I was starting a new job and I wanted to feel my best and look my best and the internet had come for me for not looking my best, and for me, it was just kinda like, 'Okay'. A realization that there's work I could be doing for myself and I'm not gonna do it for the troller on the internet who wants to tell me I'm fat. Today, I'm gonna do it for me and put the work in for me to feel like I'm at my best and I can put in my best work out there. I cried because the internet hurt my feelings but then I cried because of the love I felt for my fans and family." [51:41-53:08]
