"I’d much rather be sleeping with my wife" - Bryan Danielson refuses to do one thing with the AEW World Title

Bryan Danielson won the AEW World Championship less than a month ago at AEW All In. However, he admitted in a recent interview that he refuses to do one thing with the title that some champions do almost as a tradition.

Bryan Danielson shocked the world several months ago when he announced that he would be calling time on his in-ring career. As a result, he has given it his all this year and even earned a world title match after winning the Owen Hart Cup.

Danielson went a step further and even put his career on the line against Swerve Strickland at AEW All In. Despite his back being against the wall, he managed to pull off the win and is now the AEW World Champion.

A seemingly new practice has been reported of people who would sleep with the title after winning it, having realized their dream of becoming champion. Logan Paul is a recent example of this. However, it seems The American Dragon does not fall into this category.

During a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Bryan Danielson revealed that he would much rather sleep with his wife than with the title.

"I don't need to sleep with it. I'd much rather be sleeping with my wife. Can you imagine if this big, heavy championship was between us? She'd make me go sleep on the couch."

Nigel McGuinness reveals why he is not facing Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Title

Nigel McGuinness made his surprising in-ring return after 13 years to compete in the Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW All In. Following this match, Nigel has gone a step further and challenged his long-time rival Danielson to a match at AEW Grand Slam.

During a recent interview with TVInsider, Nigel McGuinness mentioned that his match at Grand Slam is not about the world title but proving he is better than The American Dragon.

"I’m not looking for any kind of resolution other than when people call Bryan the best wrestler in the world and lord him and all those awards he has as the best technical wrestler. I think he paid for those, I’m not sure. I want to show I was as good as him and if I can beat him at Arthur Ashe, I can prove that. It’s not about the AEW title. It is prestigious but I’m not coming back to win the title, but coming back to show I was as good as Bryan Danielson. That if fortune had given me the right hand, I would have had the same success," said McGuinness. [H/T - TVInsider]

It will be interesting to see if Nigel McGuinness will be able to defeat Bryan Danielson after all these years.
