"I would have fired myself" - WWE veteran brutally slams Tony Khan for AEW's all-time low ratings (Exclusive)
A former WWE personality recently didn't hold back in bashing Tony Khan for AEW's ratings. Vince Russo discussed Rampage registering all-time low ratings and went on to mention how he would have fired himself if he were in Khan's place.
It's no secret that AEW Rampage has struggled to draw viewers at its time slot of 10 p.m. on Friday. Some rumors even emerged after the promotion struck its new deal with WBD that Rampage could be axed and replaced with another show.
The ratings for Rampage's November 1 episode sank to a new low, with the show registering just 172,000 viewers. On a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, the former WWE writer addressed the situation. Vince Russo stated that if he were in Tony Khan's shoes, he would have fired himself and would be "embarrassed" about his failure to achieve respectable numbers.
"Bro, I swear if I was doing 172,000 viewers, I would tell Vince to fire me. I'm not lying. I knew if I did not deliver, I would be fired, and rightfully so. If I was doing those numbers, man, I would have fired myself. I would have been embarrassed," Russo said. [2:27-2:55]

Vince Russo recently offered to help Tony Khan and AEW
A few days ago, Russo publicly mentioned on X (Twitter) that he would gladly come forward to help All Elite Wrestling if Tony Khan were to approach him.
The 63-year-old went on to claim that he would turn around the promotion's ratings in just a year.
"If @TonyKhan ever wanted to call, I would gladly accept it. I give my professional criticism to help. It's no good for anybody involved in the wrestling business for @AEW to fail. Yes, as a consultant, I would turn those numbers around in one year. Been there, done that!" he wrote.
Russo worked for the Stamford-based promotion as its lead writer during The Attitude Era. It will be interesting to see if Khan collaborates with him in the future.
