"I hate to say it" - Ricochet could face a major problem in AEW, warns legend (Exclusive)
Former WWE star Ricochet is currently a free agent and according to veteran Bill Apter, he could have to go through a major setback in AEW. The Highflyer left the WWE in July.
All Elite Wrestling looks to sign top talents to their promotion and have also been successful in bringing in released WWE stars like Malakai Black, Swerve Strickland, Buddy Matthews, and more. The CEO Tony Khan have also stated that he's a fan of Ricochet which might be a tease that the One and Only could sign with AEW soon.
In the recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Senior Editor Bill Apter noted that if Ricochet moves to TNA, it will eventually lead to his WWE return due to the current partnership between both companies. The veteran was also optimistic about the Highflyer joining All Elite Wrestling but claimed that he would, unfortunately, get lost in the mid-card:
"If he goes into TNA, he's eventually gonna go back into WWE because they are like a direct line now to NXT which would be okay. But, I think if he goes to AEW he's gonna get lost in the mid-card. I hate to say it. He's a great worker but he's gonna get lost in the mid-card." [6:15-6:36]
Richochet would fit in AEW according to WWE legend Booker T
On his Hall of Fame Podcast, NXT Commentator Booker T spoke about the future of Ricochet. The former World Champion explained how Ricochet looks to have a five-star match whenever he goes to perform in the squared circle and noted that the highflyer can easily achieve it by signing with All Elite Wrestling.
"I think Ricochet is one of those guys who'd fit into somewhere like AEW. When he goes into the ring, he is gonna be looking for a five-star match ... I just think that's his mentality, to go out and perform, and perform at that highest level that he possibly can and go out there and create some magic in the middle of the ring," Booker T said. Ricochet has been enjoying life outside wrestling ever since he left the WWE. It will be interesting to see where the former Intercontinental Champion shows up in the future.
