“I’ll be back,” says Ricky Starks, but not in AEW
Ricky Starks has given wrestling fans some hope after revealing that he will be coming back. However, he did not mention AEW.
Starks is a popular star in All Elite Wrestling who was on the rise until his push was somewhat halted. The last big feud he was involved in was when he and Big Bill lost the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Sting and Darby Allin in February of this year.
Kota Ibushi, who has been out with an injury for a while, recently showed up in DDT Pro Wrestling. Starks referenced this and claimed that he loved the Japanese promotion, promising that he'd be back someday:
“I love DDT. I’ll be back,” he wrote.
It will be interesting to see when he will return to AEW given that he has been away for a while.
Tony Khan speaks on Ricky Starks’ future
AEW President Tony Khan knows how to spot talent when he sees it, and Ricky Starks fits that bill.
TK was asked what he thought of the 34-year-old on a recent episode of SHAK Wrestling. Khan praised the former Tag Team Champion and also spoke about his absence:
"I really, really like Ricky Starks a lot; the last time we saw him here was in the World Tag Team Championship Tournament. He and Big Bill formed a great team, and they were the World Tag Team Champions! I think Ricky is tremendous! I'd love to get him involved and back in AEW anytime. He's been a huge part of what we've done here for about four out of five years, and tons of respect for Rico!"
It is clear to see how much the AEW president rates the former FTW Champion. It should only be a matter of time before we see Starks back in the company.
