“I love AEW” - 54-year-old legend open to joining Tony Khan’s company
A WCW veteran admitted on his YouTube channel that he loved AEW and would be open to joining Tony Khan's promotion. The 54-year-old also pointed out the negatives of the All Elite promotion.
Marcus Alexander Bagwell (FKA Buff Bagwell) is mostly known for his time in WCW from 1991 to 2001. Bagwell won the WCW World Tag Team Championship five times during his run. He also had a brief stint in WWE in 2001.
Later, Bagwell moved on to the independent wrestling scene and earned several accolades. The veteran wrestled his last match earlier this year, in April. Meanwhile, Bagwell was asked during his recent YouTube livestream whether he would be open to joining All Elite Wrestling. The WCW legend responded in the affirmative, revealing that he loved AEW. However, the 54-year-old also added that he hated ''some of the stuff they do!''
“Absolutely. I love AEW. I do hate some of the stuff they do, like one guy is jumping off on 20, and they’re all waiting for this 170-pound guy to jump off of them, but overall, I really love their athletic ability, and they have good storylines. They got some superstar athletes there. So overall, I absolutely would love to be part of AEW!” he said. [H/T: WrestlingNews.com]
WCW veteran comments on his heat with an AEW personality
Jim Ross is currently a part of All Elite Wrestling. The legendary commentator had a stint with WCW during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bagwell revealed that he was ''very mad'' with JR for years. The veteran further revealed that they had buried the hatchet and that he loved Jim Ross.
“First of all, let me say I love Jim Ross. I was very mad at him for years, but it is what it is. I personally love Jim Ross. Even if he had to be the one to call me and tell me the news or whatever, it’s very minor what I was mad at Jim over, but regardless, over the years, he was such a great announcer, such a great friend of mine. Jim really rooted for me and was always in my corner at WCW. It is weird we kind of had that heat," he said.
Meanwhile, only time will tell if Bagwell will ever join Tony Khan's promotion and reunite with Jim Ross onscreen.
