“I’m gonna put you in the dirt right next to your father” - Christian Cage goes off on AEW star backstage
Christian Cage issued a sinister warning to an AEW star during this week's episode of Dynamite. The talent in question is Kip Sabian.
The September 18, 2024, episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite featured Renee Paquette interviewing Christian Cage and The Patriarchy backstage. After reminding viewers of his guaranteed AEW World Championship shot (that he earned at All In 2024), The Instant Classic revealed that Nick Wayne, his protege, will be competing in a four-way match this Friday against Rocky Romero, Lio Rush, and Kip Sabian. Cage disclosed his plan to hold championship gold alongside The Prodigy and even teased a potential clash with Jon Moxley, who has also expressed interest in pursuing the AEW World Championship Bryan Danielson holds.
To Christian's irritation, however, Sabian was seen hanging around in the same backstage area. He walked up to the 32-year-old star and blasted him with his words, even evoking and insulting his recently deceased father.
"I don't know what your problem is with my son, Nick, I don't. And I also don't care about you dad or what happened to him, I don't care if he's dead. It doesn't have any effect on me. What does is me seeing your face, it's starting to p*** me off. And if I see it again, I'm gonna put you in the dirt right next to your father. Do I make myself clear?" Cage said. [1:27 onward]
Sabian had lost to Nick Wayne in a singles encounter last month. It remains to be seen if the Englishman can retaliate against The Patriarchy this Friday.
