"I am the one that will stop you" - Jay White cautions top star after his AEW return
This week's Dynamite marked the fifth anniversary of the Wednesday night program. During the show, Jay White made his much-awaited return. He later issued a warning to 'Hangman' Adam Page.
Adam Page had a match against Juice Robinson on Dynamite, where he won. Following the victory, Page tried to choke his opponent with the help of the ring ropes. Luckily for Robinson, Jay White showed up and blindsided the former AEW World Champion. The two ultimately brawled all over the arena.
Following the altercation, AEW released an exclusive video on X/Twitter, where Jay White addressed his beef with 'Hangman' Adam Page.
"What was it? Hangman, Hangman Adam Page, what was it that Jeff Jarrett said to you? I think he said sooner or later you’re going to have to answer to the man in the mirror. I’m not that man that he was speaking of nor am I a mirror, but you need to, and you will answer to me."
Switchblade was angry that Page ruined his chance to earn a title shot and become the AEW World Champion by defeating him in the 2024 Owen Hart Cup.
"You were one of two men who knocked me off my path, my path to the AEW World Championship because that is where I belong. My path is leading me there where I belong, where I, The Catalyst of Professional Wrestling, am meant to be that is at the top of the industry. The most elite of all, that is me. That is what I care about, Adam (...) You give me this opportunity to stop this runaway train now known as Cowboy 'Hangman' Adam Page. I am the one. I am the one that will stop you. So you see, we can fight fire with fire, and we’ll see who burns last," White added.
Why was Jay White absent from AEW TV?
The last time Jay White was seen on AEW TV before Wednesday was on the July 6, 2024, episode of Collision. During the program, he lost to 'Hangman' Adam Page in the semi-final of the Owen Hart Cup. Following the bout, he went on hiatus due to injury issues. It was later reported that White was dealing with a foot injury.
White's injury even led to the Bang Bang Gang being stripped of the AEW World Trios Championship as they attempted to defend it under the Freebird rule.
