"I didn't really know about this," says Cody Rhodes' close friend after WWE's huge announcement

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes' close friend recently disclosed that he did not know about a recent announcement made by the Stamford-based promotion. The personality in question is AEW star QT Marshall.

The Stamford-based promotion recently announced the 'WWE ID' program through which they can ID wrestlers from independent scene and wrestling schools. The sports entertainment juggernaut would also have a say on the ID'd wrestlers if they get an offer from AEW, NJPW, TNA Wrestling, or any other wrestling promotion.

It was recently announced that the 'WWE ID' program would be aligned with the Nightmare Factory School, which is partially owned by Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall. QT recently revealed that he had a chat with The American Nightmare regarding the same.

Meanwhile, while speaking on The Takedown recently, QT Marshall disclosed that he did not know about the Nightmare Factory School aligning with the new 'WWE ID' program. Marshall also revealed that he talked to Cody as well as Tony Khan about the same and does not understand what's going on:

"I didn't really know about this. When Cody kinda explained it to me, he was very smart about not putting me in the press releases. He didn't want any kind of drama for me. And I told Tony [Khan], Cody has his own camps. It's always kinda been like that ... Now that the WWE is involved, I don't understand what's going on." [H/T WrestlingINC]

QT Marshall on whether WWE has any issues with him

Cody Rhodes' close friend and coach in the Nightmare Factory School, QT Marshall stated that he does not think WWE has any issues with him being signed with AEW after they aligned his school with the 'WWE ID' program. Marshall also said that he will talk to Tony Khan about that:

"[WWE] probably knew that I was an integral part of The Nightmare Factory, I can't imagine that they have any issues on their end. And I think that would just be a conversation that Tony and I would really have to talk about. Again, I don't know what goes into it ... it's just one of those things that, as things progress, we'll kind of figure it out." [H/T WrestlingINC]

Only time will tell what is next in store for the 39-year-old star.
