"I don't think there's any interest from them" - Released WWE Superstar wants to join AEW; shares disappointing update
A former WWE star wants to join AEW. However, she shared a disappointing update with her fans.
Tegan Nox was part of the WWE roster in 2017. She started her run in NXT before she made it to the main roster in 2021. She was released that same year, only to return to the Stamford-based promotion in 2022. Sadly, Tegan's career was plagued by several injuries, which kept her on the sidelines for a long time. Finally, she was released from her contract again in November 2024. Following her release, there was a lot of talk about whether she would pop up in AEW like many other stars who were released from WWE.
During a recent interview with Baby Basile, Tegan Nox was asked if she had any interest in joining AEW. Nox replied that she would love to go to the Jacksonville-based promotion since she wants to work with several of the women there, like Toni Storm. However, she also stated that there wasn't any interest from Tony Khan's promotion.
“Um, not that I know of. I would love to go there. There’s so many people there that I want to wrestle. Like, I really want to tangle up with Toni again. I wrestled Toni for many years on the indies, so I’d like to revisit that. There’s just a lot of women there that I would love to wrestle. So, I am more than willing for AEW to talk about some stuff. I’m interested. I’d love to go there. But as far as I know, I don’t think there’s any interest from them, which is a shame. But I would love to go there.” [H/T Ringside News]
Former WWE star Tegan Nox also wants to wrestle in ROH and TNA
Following her release from WWE, Tegan Nox has been busy working on the independent scene. It appears as if she has her own bucket list of items she wants to accomplish now that she is a free agent.
During the same interview, she admitted that she wanted to wrestle for multiple companies. Her girlfriend used to wrestle for Ring of Honor, and she wants to have a match with her in a big promotion. She also expressed interest in wrestling for ROH and TNA, and she is completely open to offers.
“Like, there’s so many people that I want to wrestle in multiple different companies. You know, my girlfriend wrestles for Ring of Honor quite frequently—or used to—so I’d love to be able to wrestle her in a high-stakes promotion. But honestly, I really want to wrestle for Ring of Honor. Growing up as a wrestling fan, you see all these companies like TNA, Ring of Honor—you want to wrestle everywhere, in every way. So yeah, they’re on my bucket list. I’m completely open to offers, because I’ve got to check those goals off. I want to show people what I can do best—I just need the opportunity to prove it.” [H/T Ringside News]
It will be interesting to see if Tegan Nox will get the chance to compete in AEW.
