"I’ve been accused of burying young talent" - Former WWE Champion comments on working with Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens
Two of the most accomplished WWE Superstars today are Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. The multi-time champions have leaned on several veteran stars and future Hall of Famers along the way, including a former WWE Champion who has an interesting take on his critics.
Chris Jericho currently leads The Learning Tree in AEW. The faction features the current FTW Champion leading Big Bill and Bryan Keith with a good mix of comedy and danger that seems to work with the All Elite fans. This is seen by many as another example of Jericho doing what he can to elevate other talents around him, as he did in WWE with The Visionary, The Prizefighter, Sami Zayn, and others.
The former AEW World Champion recently spoke with Sports Illustrated and said he's excited about his current work with Bill and Keith. During the conversation, Jericho claimed that he has always been accused of burying young talent by his critics.
The veteran pointed to his final stint with WWE, which saw him work with Owens, Zayn, and Rollins. The 53-year-old claimed he wanted to give the trio ''another way to learn.'' However, Chris admitted that he also learned from Rollins, Zayn, and Owens. He also touted several AEW stars he has helped: Hangman Page, Darby Allin, Scorpio Sky, Orange Cassidy, Jack Perry, and MJF.
"I’ve been accused of burying young talent. Even go back to my last run in WWE, I was working with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins. I wanted to give them another way to learn, and I learned from them, too. That’s all I’ve done in AEW. Working early on with Hangman and Darby and Scorpio Sky and Jungle Boy and Orange Cassidy and MJF—who became a smarter and better wrestler—this is what I love to do," Chris Jericho said.
