"I work with everybody" - Popular SmackDown star recalls wrestling Jon Moxley outside WWE
A top WWE SmackDown star was recently asked about his thoughts on working with Jon Moxley in 2019. The star in question is none other than Carmelo Hayes.
The 29-year-old is one of the fastest-rising stars on SmackDown ever since his call-up to the main roster a couple of months ago. However, he's no stranger to wrestling against top names as back in August 2019 at a NEW Wrestling show, he wrestled Jon Moxley and Darby Allin in a Tag Team match.
Speaking with Fighful's Joel Pearl at the WWE Money in the Bank media junket on Friday, the former NXT Champion reflected on the matchup from 2019 and explained that he's capable of working with everybody.
"I work with everybody. I’ve wrestled a lot of people. I wrestled Rey Mysterio and Darby Allin in a triple threat. It wasn’t one way or another. It was just go out, ball out, and try to make a name for myself. I wanted to go where I was wanted. The place that wanted me, got me." [H/T:Fightful]
Carmelo Hayes reacts to Bron Breakker's success on WWE RAW
Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes are no strangers to each other. Both men became big names in NXT at the same time and had a couple of great matches in the Black and Gold brand. Breakker and Hayes were recently called up to the main roster, Carmelo to SmackDown, and Bron Breakker to Monday Night RAW.
In a recent interview with Emily Mae for Sportskeeda, the former WWE NXT Champion praised his former rival and encouraged him to keep moving forward in his career.
"I love Bron, and I know Bron. And I know like you know, he's an animal. You can't control that. And I am super happy that he is taking things because you know I think that the key to our success is we are not waiting around for opportunities, Bron and myself. We are taking opportunities and I fully support that. Go ahead Bron, do your thing man." [0:50 onwards]
Carmelo Hayes is set to be a part of the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match on Saturday. It will be interesting to see if the young star walks out of Canada with the briefcase.
