Inactive AEW Tag Team hint at return: "We'll be back soon"
A top AEW tag team has been inactive for several weeks now. One-half of the team in question - Austin Gunn of The Gunns - has now seemingly provided an update on the duo's in-ring comeback.
The Gunns have not acted in the squared circle since they teamed with their stablemate Juice Robinson to defeat The Cage of Agony on the September 12 tapings of Collision. The following month, Austin Gunn was ambushed backstage by Hangman Page with a steel chair on the Fifth Anniversary episode of Dynamite.
The Cowboy would fight off a retaliatory attack from Colten Gunn on the October 23 edition of the Wednesday-night show, eventually turning the tables on the latter before Robinson and Jay White made the save for their teammate. Amid The Gunns' hiatus, a recent report claimed that Austin Gunn has been dealing with an injury.
Interestingly, appearing on a Highspots Virtual Signing, Austin reassured fans of his and his brother's return to the ring.
"We'll be back soon. Don't worry about it," the former AEW World Tag Team Champion stated. [H/T - Fightful]
The Gunns are currently members of The Bang Bang Gang, alongside Juice Robinson and Jay White.
Austin Gunn accuses a fellow AEW star of borrowing from his faction
Despite being absent from All Elite programming lately, Austin Gunn keeps up with the latest goings-on in the Tony Khan-led company. This was evident from the 30-year-old star's recent tweet, where he accused Ricochet of imitating
The Bang Bang Gang's signature 'Guns Up' hand gesture during his match on Dynamite: Winter is Coming and asked AEW to discourage him from employing his faction's taunt in the future.
"Can someone at AEW tell Ricochet to stop doing Gunns Up that belongs to the Bang Bang Gang," Austin wrote.
The One and Only defeated Brody King this Wednesday in a Gold League bout of the 2024 Continental Classic tournament, earning him three more points and bringing his total to six after his previous win over Komander.
