Injured AEW star could make surprising return before the end of 2024: "I am an anomaly"
An injured AEW star has hinted at getting medically cleared soon for an in-ring return. The star shared a cheerful message for fans on social media regarding the same.
The AEW star in question is Anthony Henry. Before turning All Elite in September 2021, Henry had a brief run in WWE earlier that year. While he was released by the Tony Khan-led company in April 2024, the 40-year-old later signed a new deal. Anthony has been a prominent part of Ring of Honor for quite some time as well. The veteran last appeared on AEW TV on an episode of Collision last month and was defeated by Wheeler Yuta in a singles match.
Meanwhile, Henry has been out of action for multiple weeks due to an injury. He tore his left bicep off the bone during a match against NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd on the October 3 ROH TV taping. Nonetheless, The Saint has provided a positive update on his injury.
Anthony took to the X social media platform to inform fans that he could be medically cleared to compete in six weeks.
"Apparently, I am an anomaly. Only about two weeks post-op, and I am out of the immobilizer and already moving freely with nearly full ROM (range of motion). Fingers crossed, BUT I think I can be cleared in another six weeks," he wrote.
AEW star was so happy to be rehired by Tony Khan
In April 2024, Anthony Henry was released from the company during an injury-related hiatus. Nevertheless, Tony Khan later announced the rehiring of The Five Star King ahead of his in-ring return.
After hearing the news, Anthony shared the following message on X:
"There is much more to the story of my return to AEW than most know, or will probably ever know. I just know one thing. I am excited to be back in that locker room soon! #Family," Anthony wrote.
It will be interesting to see if the 40-year-old star returns to in-ring action in the coming weeks.
