Jeff Hardy admits his match with WWE Hall of Famer left him terrified: "I don't ever want to do that again"
Jeff Hardy said he didn't want to wrestle after a brutal match with a WWE veteran. The star being discussed is the late great Scott Hall. The Hall of Famer passed away in March 2022 due to a severe illness. He had a great run in WWE and WCW during his prime years.
The Charismatic Enigma worked with All Elite Wrestling from 2022 to 2024. He departed in June this year after his contract with the company expired. The star is currently wrestling in TNA and has teamed up with his brother Matt Hardy. Before becoming a popular high flyer, Jeff was an enhancement talent in the company.
During an episode of RAW in 1996, 16-year-old Jeff Hardy faced an already-established Razor Ramon in a squash match. Amid the entire match, the Hall of Famer brutally attacked Jeff and threw him left and right before pinning the latter.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Jeff Hardy revealed he wanted to quit wrestling after the brutal contest with Scott Hall.
"When I think about that match, I just know that the ring back then was so hard. I was probably 185-190 pounds, and oh, it was so hard. We had never been in it before, and he [Scott Hall] was stiff with a few things. I was 16, just terrified, you know? It was just rough. When it was over, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t ever want to do that again,'" he said. [H/T TJR Wrestling]
Former WWE manager talks about Matt and Jeff Hardy
The Hardy Boyz have become a household name after delivering great matches in WWE earlier in their career. The duo is currently wrestling in TNA after their tenure in AEW expired.
While speaking on Sportskeeda's SmackTalk, Dutch Mantell said that The Hardy Boyz could return to the company now that TNA and WWE have a good relationship.
"The thing about the Hardy Boys, how many returns can they make? Now since WWE and TNA have broken through that barrier of not using the same talent, I think it’s a good thing and I am glad that is over. I was just so sick and tired because when I was with WWE, you couldn’t even mention another company," he said.
It remains to be seen when will the Hardy Boyz return to WWE for a potential run.
