Jeff Hardy finally reveals what he thinks of CM Punk amid alleged real-life heat
Jeff Hardy has opened up about his relationship with CM Punk amid their alleged real-life heat. The two stars reportedly did not see eye to eye a decade ago.
Punk and Jeff were involved in a heated rivalry in 2008, and the Straight Edge Superstar said some things about his rival and his history with addiction issues. That did not go down well for obvious reasons, and things reportedly turned sour.
However, it seems that, finally, CM Punk and Jeff Hardy are well after the latter opened up about him in an interview. The latter was speaking on the Muscle Memory podcast when he had this to say about his former rival:
“I’m very excited about rebuilding this time, not to burn it down, talking about my career and my existence. When I think about Punk, I always say he’s such a superpower. I had that superpower at one point in my life. I’m rebuilding to get it back because I have an amazing connection with the fans, as everybody knows, and I have to prove to myself and them that there is a little light inside of me that is going to shine brighter than ever,” Hardy noted. Hardy's AEW contract has reportedly expired. On June 14, he made a surprise appearance on TNA's Against All Odds event, reuniting with his brother Matt.
Triple H is happy with CM Punk's return
CM Punk is finally putting his injury woes behind him after he showed up at Clash at the Castle to cost Drew McIntyre his match against Damian Priest.
While not all were happy about the return of Punk, one man certainly was, and it was Triple H. Speaking during the Clash at the Castle post-show press conference, he said:
"I cannot tell you how happy I am to have him back. I cannot tell you how exciting it is for me to see the Phil Brooks that I wanted to see then. While maybe my efforts to get that were taken wrong and it's what led to friction, I always knew the Phil Brooks that I see today was inside there, just couldn't express it in the right way. So, as much as this has changed, he has changed. And I gotta tell you, it's amazing. I'm excited, I'm excited for the future and I'm excited to not just work with him but just to be around him."
CM Punk is sure to have a big impact now that he is fully back, and it will be interesting to see how his rivalry with Drew McIntyre evolves.
