Jeff Jarrett believes 33-year-old star will be the next AEW World Champion
A massive AEW star is set to challenge for the World Championship in an upcoming PPV match. Jeff Jarrett believes he could pull off a win.
Hangman Page has been touted as the future of AEW since the company's inception. He lived up to the hype during the promotion's initial days and even won the AEW World Championship. After he lost the World Title, Page has struggled to get back on the horse again.
He spent the better part of the last year in a bitter feud with Swerve Strickland that has left him a changed man. However, he hasn't lost sight of his goal to reclaim the World Title. He will get his chance when he competes against Jay White, Orange Cassidy, and Jon Moxley for the title at Worlds End.
Speaking on his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett said that all participants in the World Title match have their own unique style, but he believes Hangman Page could become the next AEW World Champion.
"In that main event," Jarrett began, "wouldn't be surprised if ol' 'Hangman' figured a way out. ... When you look at all four of them, you don't really say, 'Okay, they're similar.' They all really do have a different style. I've got my eye on that. And maybe in a unique kind of way, I'm pulling for 'Hangman.' He's aggressive. He brings it." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
Jeff Jarrett is no stranger to Hangman Page
Jeff Jarrett and Hangman Page have a brief history together that started earlier this year. On the July 3, 2024 episode of Dynamite, Page competed against Jarrett in an Owen Hart Foundation quarterfinal match and won. Jarrett was then named special enforcer for the tournament finals between Bryan Danielson and Page. Finally, both men got to settle their scores on the September 25 episode of Collision when they faced off in a Lumberjack Strap Match. As expected, Page emerged victorious.
Despite their history together, Jeff had nothing but nice things to say about the former AEW World Champion. He even said he respects Hangman a lot.
"He's super athletic," Jarrett said of Page. "I've got a lot of respect for the guy. We'll see what happens." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
It will be interesting to see if Jeff Jarrett's prediction about Hangman Page will come true at Worlds End.
