Jesse Ventura's appearance on WWE Saturday Night's Main Event stirs reaction from AEW legend
Jesse Ventura recently appeared on Saturday Night's Main Event and was one of the show's biggest talking points due to his unorthodox commentary. AEW commentator Jim Ross praised his voice.
JR has been a part of AEW's commentary desk for more than five years. However, due to health issues, he doesn't attend every show and mostly works on pay-per-views.
Jesse Ventura is a retired pro wrestler and commentator. The Hall of Famer made a one-time appearance for WWE SNME and joined Pat McAfee and Michael Cole at the commentary desk. He called the main event of the night, which was between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. He acted as a heel commentator, and fans highly praised his work after the event.
Recently on Grilling JR, Jim Ross claimed that he enjoyed Jesse Ventura's performance at Saturday Night's Main Event.
"I did catch up on all the highlights because they were everywhere after the event. It was good. It was a good touch (...) Jesse is really the true voice of Saturday Night's Main Event ... I didn't hear anything negative about it," he said. [H/T - Wrestling Inc.]
Vince Russo believes Jesse Ventura sounded 'scripted'
Jessa Ventura was known for his unhinged rants, and he didn't hold back throughout his career on commentary. However, a veteran believes WWE was restricting him during his appearance at Saturday Night's Main Event.
While speaking on The Brand, Vince Russo claimed that the Hall of Famer didn't sound like himself during the early moments of his appearance.
"It was a little weird, man. We bring Jesse out at the top and that is awesome, absolutely awesome. But my God, the first time Jesse spoke, he was scripted. And you could tell Jesse was scripted. And Jesse was also a little nervous early on in that first segment," he said.
It will be interesting to see if Ventura returns to WWE in the future.
