Jim Ross comments on AEW possibly signing Becky Lynch following WWE contract expiry

Jim Ross recently commented on AEW possibly signing Becky Lynch after her contract expiry. Lynch last appeared on WWE RAW in May 2024.

Becky Lynch has been one of the company's biggest stars in the women's division. She was part of the women's revolution and has been instrumental in how the women in WWE are perceived. Throughout the years, she has had many memorable matches and moments against some of the biggest names in the industry.

The Man recently won the Women's World Championship before dropping it to Liv Morgan at the King and Queen of the Ring event. Since losing the title, she has indicated that she is taking time away from the ring and she has not appeared on RAW. It was also reported that he contract with the Stamford-based promotion had expired and she has not re-signed a new deal. This fuelled speculation that she could be headed to AEW.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about the possibility of The Man coming to AEW following her contract expiry.

"I have great respect for her [Becky Lynch] and her husband [Seth Rollins], he’s a hell of a hand too. So I don’t know anything about her contractual status. Obviously, I think we all could agree that if AEW was able to sign a talent of her level, it’s gonna help. She’s player, she’s a main-event level player. I think the world of her as a human being. You know my theory of hiring good human beings, she fits that mold perfectly. She’s terrific. But I don’t know how committed she is to being a mom. Not that she’s a good mom or bad mom, she’s obviously a great mother. But what if she wants to have more kids? That could happen," Ross said.

The former WWE commentator continued:

"So anyway, I don’t know what she’s gonna do. I would be very shocked if the WWE let her slip away. That doesn’t feel right to me. They got a lot of money invested in her. They got her over. She’s famous, she’s a main-event level talent, she’s broken a lot of molds. So I’m a big Becky Lynch supporter, and whatever she does, I’m pulling for her. I think she’s just an amazing human being and a great mom. Seth Rollins is lucky. He out-kicked his coverage, as we say." [H/T Fightful]

Ryback believes that Becky Lynch won't go to AEW

Since the news about Becky Lynch's contract status broke, many critics and fans have commented on the possibility of her going to AEW. Ryback is the latest to speak on this topic.

Speaking on his Ryback TV podcast, The Big Guy stated that Lynch won't go to AEW because of the exposure she gets from the WWE.

"I feel like Hunter[Triple H] and them [management] are more reasonable of letting people have time off and not forcing them to sign a contract right away [...] I think maybe there's more wiggle room on that end. Things are not really changing, right? It depends on what a person's preferences are and I think if you compare the two companies, I just think there's so much more exposure and mainstream attention on WWE at the moment," Ryback said.
