Jim Ross considers ex-WWE star as AEW's MVP after five years, claims he would have fit in any generation

Jim Ross is widely known and experienced in the world of professional wrestling. He is currently signed to AEW, where he works as a commentator.

Over the years, Ross played an instrumental role in the rise of several wrestlers. He is a huge fan of the reigning AEW World Champion, Bryan Danielson, and never hesitates to praise him. The leader of the "Yes!" movement was previously signed to WWE, where he won the WWE Championship a staggering four times. Furthermore, he is a former World Heavyweight Champion, a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, and a former WWE United States Champion.

According to Jim Ross, Danielson is the MVP of All Elite Wrestling. In a recent Grilling JR with Jim Ross episode, the 72-year-old said that the erstwhile Daniel Bryan can deliver quality matches, irrespective of his opponent. In addition, the commentator called the champion a true professional.

"Daniel Bryan is gotta be considered (the MVP). The Omega fans could make an argument for Kenny. Moxley has gotta be in the conversation. But the work Bryan Danielson has done is nothing short of extraordinary. The quality of matches he has with everybody he gets in the ring with takes great skill and being unselfish. Bryan is a pro's pro. I've worked with some great bookers in my career. Some of them are considered the best in the field. But there has never been a generation of talent that Bryan Danielson would not fit. He is that good." [From 1:01:32 to 1:03:30]

Jim Ross called new AEW signee Shelton Benjamin better than Randy Oron and Batista

In the Grilling JR with Jim Ross episode mentioned above, Ross revealed that he was a big fan of Shelton Benjamin, and believes the 49-year-old is a better athlete than Randy Orton and Batista.

"I have always been a big fan of Shelton Benjamin. He was one of my signees. In the same class as Batista and Cena, Randy Orton... Shelton was the best athlete in the whole crew. Better than Batista. Better than Randy," said Ross. [H/T Sportskeeda]

Hopefully, Benjamin's AEW run will be better than his time in WWE.
