Jim Ross is open to blockbuster reunion with controversial WWE legend - "I'm in"
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is open to reuniting with his former commentary partner, Jim Cornette. The two veterans used to work on commentary in the Jim Crockett promotions. The duo also reunited in the WWF/E on Monday Night RAW in the 90s.
JR is currently signed with AEW, and it seems like Cornette's controversial remarks about All Elite Wrestling will not stop Good Ol' JR from once again calling on the action with the veteran. Ross recently revealed that he would be willing to reunite with Jim Cornette if the opportunity presents itself.
On X/Twitter, Jim Ross responded to a fan who asked for a one-night reunion of JR and Jim Cornette.
"I’m in!" Jim Ross responded.
Jim Ross is a huge fan of AEW's recent signee
AEW recently signed MVP and Shelton Benjamin. Together, they have started The Hurt Syndicate storyline. Benjamin made his in-ring debut at this past week's AEW Dynamite and defeated Lio Rush.
On the recent edition of the Grilling JR podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer said that he's always been a huge fan of Shelton Benjamin and claimed he's better than Randy Orton and Batista. Ross said if he and WWE were smart enough, they would have built up Shelton as a major player.
"I have always been a big fan of Shelton Benjamin. He was one of my signees. In the same class as Batista and Cena, Randy Orton... Shelton was the best athlete in the whole crew. Better than Batista. Better than Randy... If we had been smart enough, to work with him and to develop his verbal skills and give him a chance to grow in that role, he would have been better because he can do things in the ring which could not be replicated," Ross said. Shelton Benjamin is set to face Swerve Strickland next week on AEW Dynamite. Bobby Lashley has been rumored to join All Elite Wrestling for weeks now, and many fans are eagerly waiting to see if Lashley shows up next week.
