John Morrison makes an urgent request to the new ROH Board of Directors member
John Morrison aka Johnny TV recently made a massive request to the ROH Board of Directors member. The executive in question is Paul Wight.
Following Death Before Dishonor, Tony Khan talked about making many changes to improve ROH. One of the many important aspects of the show was that Paul Wight would be joining the company's Board of Directors. Also, former AEW champion Sammy Guevara returned to the promotion, teaming up with Dustin Rhodes.
Meanwhile, John Morrison made his AEW debut in 2022 and performed at ROH. His wife, Taya Valkyrie, often accompanies him. In July, he failed to defeat Mark Briscoe for the ROH World Championship. However, he recently approached Paul Wight for another opportunity at the title.
On a recent ROH episode, the 44-year-old star requested Paul Wight for a match against the current ROH World Champion, Mark Briscoe.
"Legends recognize legends. And you know what I couldn't agree with you more. Ring of Honor is on fire. Johnny TV is on fire... I am so hot, as a matter of fact. I think it's about time that I get a title shot against Mark Briscoe," Johnny said. (00:26 - 00:40)
Surprisingly, Paul Wight accepted the proposal in no time and granted Morrison a title shot against the current ROH World Champion.
"Well, first of all, thank you for your compliments. But Johnny, I agree that you have been on fire. Squeaky wheels gets the grease. You have your match, my friend," Paul replied. (00:42 - 00:52 )
John Morrison talks about his future in AEW
John Morrison debuted in AEW a couple of years back and has wrestled a handful of matches for the company since then. He and his wife are currently the mainstays of ROH.
While speaking with McKenzie Mitchell, the former Intercontinental Champion revealed that he and his wife are confident about going to AEW in the future.
"Right now I'm in a very good spot because I met AEW with my favorite human, Taya Valkyrie and we're working on our show, 'Johnny Loves Taya,' which is the first-ever scripted pro wrestling rom-com. And I am very optimistic about where both of us are gonna end up at AEW and there's so much potential, so many opponents that I haven't wrestled and opponents that I have wrestled and really enjoying working with there," he said.
It will be interesting to see how things go for John Morrison in the future.
