Jon Moxley involved in backstage brawl after AEW Dynamite main event
Jon Moxley found himself in a backstage brawl following the main event of this week's AEW Dynamite. The star who brought the fight to the former World Champion was none other than Bryan Danielson.
The American Dragon teamed up with his protege Wheeler Yuta to take on two-thirds of the reigning AEW World Trios Champions, Claudio Castagnoli and PAC, in the main event of Dynamite. Towards the end of the bout, Jon Moxley appeared in the ringside area, and nearly cost Danielson and Yuta the match. However, after the 27-year-old up-and-comer foiled PAC's attempt to illegally employ a hammer, Danielson submitted The Man That Gravity Forgot with the LeBell Lock to pick up the win for his team.
Immediately afterward, the Washington native attacked Moxley, whom he is set to defend his AEW World Title against at WrestleDream 2024. The brawl spilled to the backstage area. Meanwhile, Castagnoli brutalized Yuta with the hammer inside the ring while PAC and Marina Shafir restrained the former ROH Pure Champion.
Danielson ultimately brought a staggered Moxley back into the arena, and the latter was quickly rescued by Shafir. The 43-year-old veteran also took out The Swiss Cyborg with a Busaiku Knee to make the save for Yuta and celebrated with the crowd to close out the show.
It remains to be seen if Jon Moxley will be able to successfully dethrone (and thus retire) Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream 2024.
