Jon Moxley and top AEW star allegedly haven't spoken in four months
A top AEW star recently revealed that he has not spoken with Jon Moxley in the past few months. The star in question is none other than Eddie Kingston.
The Mad King has been out of action with a broken leg, a tibular fracture, a torn ACL, and a strained meniscus he suffered in a no-ropes Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence. Eddie Kingston had surgery for his broken leg in July.
In a recent interview with The DAVINci Report, former ROH World Champion commented on the recent character development of Jon Moxley. Kingston noted how they both usually text each other multiple times a week and stated that he has nothing against what the former WWE Champion is currently doing in AEW.
"I don't know what's going on with [Jon Moxley]. I haven't talked to him in three or four months. I don't know what's going on with him with this whole Darby (Allin) thing. I knew something was up because we text each other at least once or twice a week, just funny stuff, nothing about wrestling. A funny meme or a stupid Instagram thing, just to make each other laugh. He's doing his thing. I have nothing against what he's doing. (I'm) not needed right now, I don't think." [H/T:Fightful]
AEW CEO Tony Khan recently spoke about Jon Moxley turning on Bryan Danielson at All Out
AEW All Out saw a shocking betrayal, with Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli turning on Bryan Danielson. After The American Dragon retained his World Title against Jack Perry, Claudio and Moxley alongside Wheeler Yuta and PAC made their way to the ring to fend off The Patriarchy and seemingly congratulate their friend. Claudio stunned the crowd by hitting Danielson with a brutal uppercut followed by Jon Moxley suffocating him with a plastic bag.
In a recent chat on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan called the heel turn of Jon Moxley on Bryan Danielson, 'life-altering' after all the years the two spent together.
"Originally, Bryan and I agreed to a three-year deal. Bryan won the AEW World Championship, which changed everything. I think Bryan was on a mission [in the Owen Hart Tournament]. He was inspired by a great speech by Jeff Jarrett. Bryan went on that run, and this has been this amazing thing, but quickly after that, it was a life-altering thing for everyone to have Jon Moxley turn on Bryan after all these years," Khan said. Bryan Danielson is scheduled to compete in a singles match against Nigel McGuinness at Dynamite Grand Slam. It will be interesting to see if PAC, Jon Moxley, or Claudio Castagnoli interfere in the bout.
