Kenny Omega calls out outspoken star amid AEW absence; makes a huge challenge

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has called out an NJPW star. On social media, Omega also issued a huge challenge to the talent amid his in-ring absence.

The outspoken star in question is Gabe Kidd. He is currently competing in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's G1 Climax Tournament and has won most of his matches in the group stage. Kidd even wrestled at the 2024 AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view in a four-way tag team bout.

Gabe Kidd recently mentioned Kenny Omega's name on X/Twitter, potentially expressing his desire to face the latter. Omega has been out of action for the past several months due to a serious medical condition called diverticulitis.

On X/Twitter, The Cleaner noticed Kidd's tweet and responded to it with a long message. He motivated the Strong Openweight Champion to win the ongoing G1 Climax Tournament and teased facing him in the future.

"You must have forgotten that I work for AEW. Most of our roster are delusional psychopaths like you so I’m kinda used to the schtick. Tell you what, brah - Go win that G1 and maybe I’ll think about gifting you with the 'Kenny Omega touch.' The same one that scored all your top talent that bag here in the US. Good Luck," Omega wrote.

Gabe Kidd has recently made headlines for calling out top names like MJF and Cody Rhodes. It will be interesting to see whether he will make more appearances in All Elite Wrestling.

Kenny Omega's nixed plans for AEW All In 2024

Omega is still recovering after undergoing surgery earlier this year. Hence, he is set to miss AEW's next pay-per-view, All In 2024.

A recent report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggested that Omega was slated to take on Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Title at the Wembley Stadium event in August.

However, the abovementioned match is unlikely to take place now, as Omega has yet to make his in-ring return. Only time will tell when The Cleaner will be back in the ring.
