Kenny Omega gets physical for the first time since undergoing "major" surgery amid AEW absence

AEW star Kenny Omega has been out of action since December 2023 due to a major life-threatening illness. However, The Cleaner recently revealed that he got physical for the first time after his surgery.

In December 2023, Kenny Omega was forced to step away from in-ring competition after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis. The former AEW World Champion recently underwent surgery and has been training to return to the squared circle. Omega has also been spending some time in Japan, reuniting with his former rivals and friends like Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

In a recent post on his X (Twitter), The Best Bout Machine shared a photograph with Japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu and revealed that the latter had him locked in Cobra Twist. Omega lavished praise on the 65-year-old's ''perfect'' technique, admitting that ''there was no escaping it!''

"I never imagined that the first wrestling move I received after my major surgery was the legendary Uematsu's Cobra Twist! His technique was perfect, and there was no escaping it. I had no choice but to give up in order to avoid ending my career!" he wrote.

Kurt Angle heaps praise on former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is one of the most talented in-ring performers of all time. Notably, the veteran has a great eye for talent. Angle recently lavished praise on AEW star Kenny Omega.

In a recent virtual signing with K&S Wrestlefest, The Olympic Gold Medalist called Kenny Omega ''a great talent,'' claiming that The Cleaner could have a five-star match with any wrestler.

"I love Kenny Omega; I think he’s a great talent. He can have a five-star match with just about anybody; the kid’s really well-versed. I didn’t know about his injuries, but man, I saw the one match with him and [Will Ospreay]. That was a match to remember. They really lit it up that night," Kurt said.

It will be interesting to see when The Best Bout Machine returns to the squared circle.
