Kenny Omega unhappy after his latest backstage fight gets leaked: "Didn't need to be shown to the world"
Former AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega expressed his unhappiness over his backstage fight getting leaked. Omega felt it didn't need to be shown to everyone.
Kenny Omega has been out of action for nearly a year now due to a serious medical condition called 'diverticulitis.' He recently made his return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling at the Power Struggle event. Upon his return, Omega also had a backstage altercation with NJPW star, Gabe Kidd.
After the video of his backstage fight with Gabe Kidd went viral all over social media, Kenny didn't seem happy as he said that his fight shouldn't have been shared with the general public. Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Wrestling, Omega stated that the fight could've been handled very differently:
"Yeah, truthfully, I have said it before many times, there are certain things in the locker room that shouldn't be shared to the general public and I think this was one of locker room spats that didn't need to be shown to the world, and I think that it could've been handled so much differently and it's so silly." Kenny Omega revealed he told NJPW officials to not record
Kenny Omega admitted that his fight with Gabe Kidd broke out because he mispronounced his name as 'Greg' instead of 'Gabe.' Omega also stated that he asked NJPW officials to not use cameras during his mistake:
"I had said, 'Greg Kidd' in the heat of the moment and seeing that there was a camera on and that it was being recorded I had immediately said as soon as I was corrected, 'Don't use that,' like that's yeah, I wouldn't say it was unprofessional but I wouldn't want that to be aired as though I don't understand or know as someone's name in New Japan." Only time will tell when Omega will make his return to AEW TV after his recent NJPW appearance.
